Garden Parasols - Bali vs. Seville

A parasol is the perfect garden accessory to have, it looks stylish, offers some privacy, can provide shade from the sun, and protect you from a light shower.

There are also many styles of a parasol, with a great selection of colours.

From the traditional centre post-type parasol to the cantilever parasol, the Out and Out parasol collection consists of both. Such as the Bali & Seville parasols, our most popular styles.

What’s the difference between the two?

A cantilever parasol is different in design from that of a traditional parasol. The difference is that a cantilever parasol doesn't physically get in the way of your furniture design by needing to match a specific table or fit into a compatible slot. With a cantilever parasol, the pole is placed on the ground where suited and the umbrella leans forward and above your head to provide cover, with a 360-degree rotation for flexibility.

The traditional type is a straight pole, and the cantilever’s arm inclines to reach across at different angles to provide shade.

Let’s look at the different materials, designs and options that might best suit your garden space.

Beginning with the Bali Metal Parasol, the essential sunshade design complements small and large gardens.

The metal structure means a more modern design, with six steel ribs and a powder-coated steel pole. This will look good anywhere. Poolside, deck side, patio side, or beside one of our elegant sunloungers. Colour-wise, the parasol fabric comes in a choice of either taupe or sophisticated dark grey, providing resort vibes on your very own lawn. Offering peace of mind, it comes with a one-year guarantee.

As with our other styles, it’s available with multiple weights depending on its size. You can also select a parasol base weight with wheels for mobility to get the perfect positioning and balance for your parasol.

Another all-weather garden parasol for the Great British weather is the Bali Wooden Parasol

The Bali Wooden Parasol will bring a tropical element to your exterior design. It’s a more rustic design than the Bali Metal Parasol and has a wooden pole made from environmentally friendly FSC hardwood. It has wheels, which means it’s easy to manoeuvre from one end of the garden to the other.

Taking inspiration from trees, it’s available in beautiful forest green, or taupe, so it will sit amidst nature very happily in the middle of your garden. Perfect for larger lounge sets, it has a generous diameter of 2.85m when open, as well as being just what you need to complete an armchair and coffee table set up.

The durable,fade-resistant polyester canopy adds UV protection.

If you love the idea of a cantilever parasol, for its flexibility…

Go for the Seville Round Cantilever Parasol, a little larger than the Bali parasols, it’s just under 3 metres (2.95) when opened.

Ideal if you want to add a splash of bright colour to your balcony or garden, as it comes in a vibrant raspberry red, classic navy blue, light or dark grey, and taupe. The canopy’s PA coating ensures a high quality, which means your parasol’s colour won’t fade.

All of these brilliant designs will encourage you to spend more time in your garden or on your balcony!
